Summary of the Trip

It was a long trip.

I put over 9800 miles on the Van including over 600 miles on dirt roads. I took 6 ferry rides for an additional 600+ miles. In total, I travelled well over ten thousand miles on the trip. Being on the road for six weeks was great and I can't wait to do it again! I saw so many interesting and beautful sights on this trip that I was truly changed.   Now I know ... once you have experienced the wide open spaces of the Yukon, everything else seems a little smaller thereafter.

In the end, no one could deny that this has been the trip of a lifetime. And yet, after all of the driving, all of the research before the trip, all of the glaciers, mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and wildlife that we saw and and all of the people that I met ... after all this, I still feel like I have just scratched the surface of these wonderful places. As such, I have grown fond of the thought that this trip was just the scouting expedition for a more extensive exploration of Alaska and the great Northwest that I'll take sometime in the future. Maybe someday. Someday soon! In the meantime tho, I hope you'll get a chance to take a your own trip of a lifetime and visit Alaska sometime too!

In closing, if you happen to be thinking about taking your own trip to Alaska, then go ahead and DO IT !   Just grab a map and go!

I promise you won't regret it!
