Relaxing sail and adventure with Michelle to Tobobe
March 6-9, 2011
Sunday: motor late to Zapatillas for nice sunset, dinner (sgetti), and movie.
Monday: Really nice, pure sail (no motor for 8 hours, 18 miles), from Zaps to Island Anchorage ... explore island at sunset ... steaks and lobster (again? sheesh!) for dinner ...
Tuesday: Spend day playing on island, get lobsters and snapper from local fishermen, move Rhapsody to Tobobe in afternoon, surrounded by and interacting with locals in cayucas (as they clean fish for us for a modest fee and I play a little guitar for them as they paddle by) ... Snapper with Lobster sauce for dinner :-)
Wednesday: Visit village and families, depart around 2:00 pm, back at Loma Partida (motor sail all the way) at about 7:30pm ... dinner, movie, and .... Racoon and Dog fight in water with dinghy at 10:00 fearing for Topo but all was ok ... and as they say, that's another story!

Here's some photos of Michelle and my recent trip on Rhapsody to Tobobe, Panama ..
Twas a very nice time, not the least of which was a desert island all to ourselves to play on ... but the indigenous people and experiences are also very enriching .... all in all, a wonderful time
... Ah paradise!
... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, nothing like a little exposure to De la Luna WILD LIFE after a few days of decadent indulgence, now is there? Racoon fighting with 100 pound dog - why do I worry about HER?, 100 pound dog cornering opposum under our bedroom armoire, little monkey hurt and sad with sprained wrist which he still favors "-( ~ Yep, I think that covers the wild kingdom! Now, just what am I supposed to do with the BIG monkey?????? I guess pizza will have to do! "-)
Beautiful children of Gustavino (a Tobobe Official) who visited us at the island via Panga ...
... I love Isla Boa!

Rhapsody at Anchor at a peaceful sunset
... Did I fail to mention that I LOVE Rhapsody? You were so smart to purchase such a fabulous vessel!
Thank you for the compliment and even more for the experience and sharing it with you ....
... De nada....
Smaller tidal beach with natural beauty of all kinds :-)
... You are such a goofball! An adorable goofball, just the same! That was SUCH a fun trip ~ thank you so much for taking me away!
Life truly does suck sometimes ... I think my beer is getting warm :-)
... No way! Remember, the fridge was well stocked with COLD beer... In fact, you were lucky to GET any beer. I ate chocolate, doritos and drank beer for three days straight! Oh, and slept a lot too.... What a holiday!
Yes, what you can't see in the picture is the female dorito shark coming at me ... a dorito shark is a very rare species indeed to be seen in those particular waters ...

... That was funny! Can we go to Providencia next?
It was fun as well as funny. And sure, why not? If you agree that you feel that we're both ready for some "deeper water", that is ...
Did I mention how sucky it was here? ... notice the lush greeness, the warm water, and white sandy beach ... where are all the cars?
... I like the smiling faces!
