Trivial Pursuit Night

As Friday afternoon drew to a close, it really began to get gray and threatening outside. There were a few cloudbursts as it rolled up on the cocktail hour. God bless though, we could see Bruce and Marianne, in their rain gear, get into their dinghy and make it over to RHAPSODY as it began raining fairly steadily. They got aboard in good spirits, if a little wet. Then we saw Gene, Vici, and Fiona coming in their dinghy as it really started raining hard. They were soaked to the bone, but once again, in good spirits as they came aboard!

After a few towelings-off, and a bit of boat touring by us as well, everyone had drinks in hand, and were chatting about the most recent happenings. We had prepared a small mountain of food and Marianne had added a pizza-like bread called Foccacio. Soon the Trivial Pursuit board and pieces were broken out, and the game was on!

This is the "20th Anniversary" (2003?)edition, which had stumped us mightily in Puntarenas, so we were very determined as we broke into two teams: "Boys" and "Girls". The Boys took an early lead, getting several Wedgies in the first few minutes. Sacre Bleu! However, after a number of deadly Eminem questions, the Boys' lead slipped away to the collective wisdom of the Girls. Fiona answered one, then Marianne and Vici, and soon the girls were ahead in Wedgies. It was tough going as the game wore on. The questions are very obscure most-times and we were all at our wits end. Then, just in the nick of time, the boys landed on a wedgie try, got an easy question, and, after 5+ crazy hours, the game was over!
